You can feed the baby

I thought I would take a moment to share another funny conversation that we recently had with Jordon. Jordon was holding Natalie and I was putting Brianna to sleep. Ashley was in the room with him and Natalie began to cry and this is where the following picks up.

Jordon: Uh oh... she is getting hungry

Ash: Yeah, your mommy is putting brianna to sleep

Jordon: That's okay.. you can feed her

Ash: No I can't sweetie, only mommy can

Jordon: yes you can, you know why? Because you have a big.....bellybutton.

at this point ashley doesn't know whether to explain things further or just play it off.

Ash: Honey, natalie doesn't eat from belly buttons.

Jordon: Do you have a small belly button

ash justs laughs as jordon looks at her in all seriousness and says

Jordon: Do you even have a belly button?

Thankfully at this point I came up the stairs and fed natalie.

Sweet Sayings

So I have decided to take time each day and really reflect on the things that my kids say. Sometimes the things they say are just so darn cute, and then other times they are just so darn funny. So, my goal is to blog them so that I can remember them in the future. So the first to my list was for yesterday.

Lately Jordon has been fascinated with how much he weighs, he is constantly on the scale in the bathroom hoping that he will soon be 30 pounds. Well I guess he was in the bathroom weighing himself with Joel hoping to hit that mark, unsuccessful though. Next it was daddy's turn to be weighed and Jordons response said it all...

"Wow dad, it goes round and round when you get on.. cool"

Kids always speak the truth!

The big 6

"Mom I am so glad I am 6 now, cause I can do everything better"

Jereme turned 6 on the 12th of September, and it was sure nice to be able to spend the day with lots of family. Infact, I think it was the biggest birthday he has had, and we only had family there. He is constantly telling me how happy he is to finally be 6. He truly has been a blessing in my life and in the lives of those around him. His brother and sisters couldn't ask for a better big brother. He is very loving and entertaining. He just started kindergarten and absolutely loves it. He can't wait to learn to read so he can read to Jordon and Brianna. He even took his birthday money to walmart and came home with a present for each of them, I didn't even suggest it. I really don't know how my life would be with out him, nor do I want to imagine it. As soon as I can download pictures I will post his birthday.

To those who think they know

I have always been told by people who have had kidney stones that it is just as painful as being in labor. Infact my old boss who has one child agreed, however her labor wasn't really labor, she had a planned C- section. Well, living in this "fair" world that we do, I was recently blessed with the opportunity to be 35 weeks pregnant AND have kidney stones. I am writting this to testify that I would take having kidney stones over being in labor any day. I do not have long deliveries, brianna was my longest at 9 hours, and my labors are pretty mild compared to some others out there. Pushing the tip of a ball point pen through a straw is much easier than pushing a cantalope through a paper towel roll. Now I know that the "paper towel roll" does expand but... don't you think that might hurt also?! I no longer have any sympathy for any one of the same or opposite sex who says that passing a stone is worse than being pregnant and being in labor... no, I will say " Try being pregnant with kidney stones, having to go to the bathroom 4 times a night, chasing three kids around, and catching the flu among all of it." Do this and I might decide to sympathise with you.

We are here

Well we finally are in Alaska. After a long cross country trip we finally find our new place here in anchorage. I can't post any pictures as of yet, our container is not due to arrive till the 21st. It was an interesting journey that consisted of 3 flat tires, a broken down trailer followed by the purchase of a new trailer in Minnesota, and to top things off a husband who was not allowed to cross the boarder into canada. Thank goodness for my mom and my aunt and uncle who were able to solve our dilemma. My uncle, who is an airline pilot, was able to send Joel and the three kids to anchorage on a flight the following day and fly my mom down to seattle so she could make a three day journey with we across canada. As it turns out, everything was a blessing in disguise. If the trailer had not broken down in Minnesota it certainly would have in Canada... the roads are shall we say in need of some TLC. Infact, when you enter Alaska they have a sign naming the roads the "Roller Coaster Roads". I am certainly glad that Joel and the kids flew because there was absolutely nothing for 2000 miles. It was a beautiful ride of mountains and lakes.... and that was it. During the day it was 39 degrees, so I can only imagine how cold it would have been at night camping with the kids... not so fun. All in all the trip was worth it. We had lots of fun and grew as a family. We are here safe and as soon as our stuff arrives I will post pictures of our journey.

The heat is here.

It has been really hot here lately. The kids love to play in the sprinkler and this was Brianna's first time. Usually all the kids from the neighbor hood come around and get soaked... I am sure their parents love me!

Easter

The kids weren't too in to pictures this year... they just wanted to play. So this is what we got, I still think they are pretty cute!

Rock 'n Roll

Jordon and Jereme are really in to rock and roll right now. Thanks to American Idol this is what they now do now. If you can't make out what he is saying it is ... rock and roll.. rock and rock and roll.. yeah... I love rock and roll! I am thinking..... blackmail!

Tae Kwon Do

Jereme has been doing Tae Kwon Do for 6 months now. He had a belt ceremony a few weeks ago and advanced from yellow stripe to orange stripe. He is having lots of fun and doing very well.

I Itch

So today Jordon was complaining that he was itchy under his diaper. He began to scratch, but looked at me in an unusual way. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he had itches. I thought that I should take a look and make sure he didn't have some type of rash. There was no rash. I did however find out why he was s0 itchy. There sitting in the bottom of his diaper were a few gold fish and a.... TOY CAR! What the..... who puts toy cars in their diapers..... that's right my son!

So It's Official

I wanted to make sure before I let everyone know. As if the 4 weeks of non stop throwing up all day and headaches weren't enough confirmation. Yesterday I was told I am due October 19th with baby #4. That's right I am pregnant... a little sooner than we had planned but we are excited. Brianna and the baby will be 18 months apart, I personally prefer 2 years but I guess I don't have a say really.

Love

I do have to say that my boys are so sweet when it comes to Brianna. They absolutely love her. They push her around in baskets, smother her in kisses and are constantly telling her how beautiful she is. Jereme even informed me not too long ago that Brianna is prettier than I am. That's Okay! I know that at some point these feelings of love will either turn to annoyance or over-protectiveness. The other day Jereme commented " mom I wish Brianna wasn't in our family" Completely surprised by that hurtful statement I asked why. His response.... " Because then I could marry her, she is so cute" I thought it was so loving what he said. Joel had a different reaction to it... something about being disgusting and I am pretty sure the word incest was in there too. I really hope that their love for her will continue, it is so sweet!

Airplanes

So today Jordon asked me to make him a paper airplane. No problem I thought, I used to make a mean airplane when I was younger. Well, how does that one go again? I went to make one and I had completely forgotten how! I must have folded it 20 different ways before Jereme showed me how to do it. So the useless info for the day is: Making an airplane is not like riding a bike, you will forget how to do it so practice, practice, practice!

Happy Birthday Ash!

It is my little sisters Birthday today... well I guess she isn't so little anymore. She is now the big 20! I hope you have a good day Ash, and remember that he'll be with you all day!

A quick note to the rest of my family. I didn't post your recent birthdays because my computer wasn't working... so don't be mad.. get over it j/k

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I'm Vanilla.. although I prefer to eat Chocolate

You're Vanilla.
You're as popular and relaxing as vanilla ice cream. You go with the flow, and get along with all sorts of people. You appreciate peace and simplicity, so you sometimes find crowds and loud noises overwhelming. You are a chilled-out, calming influence on the people in your life, and your friends appreciate how supportive and flexible you are.

My little Picasso

Jereme loves to paint, draw, color all of it. The other day he painted this beautiful, yet very disturbing picture. Allow me to explain.

From Jereme's own mouth came the following.
" look mom it is a dinosaur robot"
You'll notice the head on the upper left and the stomach directly to the right. In the stomach there is an apple as well as blood from the " little boy he ate".
Also " look his chin turned out to be a hook and here is the little boy on the end that he is just eating"
Uh.... what does one say to this... " Great Job Honey, so uh detailed"
" Thanks mom"
I love you Jereme!
I was thinking of sending this one in to the "Friend" magazine... what do you think?

Kisses

I taught Brianna how to kiss... she is so adorable!

Jordon's Birthday was on the 16th. I can't believe he is 3 already. We took him bowling and just had a small party at our house. If you look close in some of the pictures you can see the instant bruise he received when I tried to catch him from falling while holding a bowling ball in my hand.... OUCH!

Me and Daddy

It isn't too often that Daddy gets moments like these. Life is so busy we have to stop and capture times so sweet!

It's tough being so small

Yes we do actually have a crib for our daughter, and yes we do let her sleep. I guess eating is either very exhausting, or just very satisfying. I guess in some cases it can be both. Either way she is just so cute!

Caught Green Handed.. and Mouthed

I love picking up after people... no not really. That would explain why Brianna discovered a green marker on the floor, with the cap off. At least it was non toxic! And who do we have to thank for this... Jereme my little artist!

It's a boy thing I guess

So I came upon Jordon the other day
to find this. He was mumbling something
under his breath to his victim.
It is times like this I wonder, am I teaching my
kids the right things?!

It's Fixed

So we finally got our computer fixed and running again. We had a virus in it that would not go away. Luckily we have a friend in the church that knows about computers and was able to fix it. So, let the blogging continue. I will try to spend the next couple of days getting caught up, so much has happened.

Absolute Number 1

I forgot to add the most important thing my mom did, and still does for all us kids. Every night she would make her rounds and give each child a back scratch, and sometimes arm scratches too! She still does this today, too bad I don't live close to her. I sure do miss those back scratches, I hear sometimes she gives more than one out a day. I love you mom!

Crawling

Yesterday Brianna started crawling. For a while she was partial crawling, doing all the movements except with one leg which would drag under her like a pirate with a wooden leg. But, yesterday she just decided she was going to do it. I didn't even have to teach her, she did it all on her own. Of course, now she follows me around, gets in to the plants, collects every little thing that should not be on the floor, and sorts through my paperwork that I had to force my self to put away or it would be eaten. I tried to video her, but she wouldn't do it on command. I will try again today.
