Jordon

Jordon read his first book today! I started homeschooling my kids this year. I was a little nervous at first wondering if I was going to be able to teach them all the things they need to know. I was particularly concerned about teaching my kids to read. When Jereme started reading it was like he just came home one day from school and was able to read. Part of me was sad that I was not the one who taught him, and the other part was glad that he got it so quickly and loved it. There are few things that compare to the joy of knowing that you have taught you child something so valuable that they will use everyday of their life. I love teaching my kids and I am so proud of my Jordon!

Congrats on teaching Jordon to read! I started homeschooling my kids this year too! They both read though... I don't know if I could teach a child to read. Was it difficult?

no it actually wasn't that hard. I used a really good program that made it super easy. It's called Go Phonics I love it.

I will have to look into that. I haven't made decisions about what I am going to do next year, but I was thinking I would send Laycee and Logan to school for a year or two just so they could learn to read lol. But never mind, I will look into Go Phonics. What do you use for the rest of your curriculum? We use calvert Schools, but its pricey, so I was looking into alternatives for next year in case i decide to do it.
